Cranberry goes dark
Friday at noon, Cranberry was struck with a rather large power outage that affected residential and commercial buildings as well as traffic lights. The culprit turned out to be a blown transformer on Rochester Road. KDKA has more:

Seven Fields woman admits to arson
About a year ago, a suspicious house fire occurred on Dorchester Drive on the northern side of 228 in Seven Fields. A woman found unconscious in the home was "considered a person of interest" in the fire. She was later formally charged with torching her own home.
Today, the woman finally admitted to the arson.
Kimberly Barnes, 51, of Indianapolis, pleaded guilty to arson in Butler County Court

Sonic creeps closer
This is not truly local news but it involves a restaurant that some suspected was coming to the Streets of Cranberry a few months back. Drive-in fast food joint Sonic is building a store on Rt 8 just north of the Turnpike entrance in Gibsonia (by the Target and Lowes). The previous closest location was next to Pittsburgh Mills.

Bar Louie coming to Cranberry
According to the Cranberry Eagle, Chicago-based bar and restaurant Bar Louie will be coming to Cranberry. The future location is in the lower strip of the Cranberry Mall between Subway and the Szechwan Taste Chinese restaurant.
Bar Louie has more than 40 locations nationwide including two in the Pittsburgh area -- Station Square and the Waterfront. The restaurant describes itself as such:

HGTV and Food Network added to Armstrong HD
Two more channels have been added to Armstrong Cable's HD lineup - Home and Garden Television (HGTV) and the Food Network. They can be found at channels 135 and 136. For once, Armstrong Cable is keeping its site up with the new channels as the channel guide already has them listed.
With these additions there are now 27 standard HD channels plus another eight in their HD Advantage lineup.
